I have driven through Memphis and Tupelo several times traveling the southeast but had never stopped at Graceland (I was even born in Memphis) or Elvis' birth house. In late 2006 I was driving from Savannah to Tulsa and decided I was going to take the Graceland tour. I did, was amazed at how it was not so big and that the neighbors lived in average, 3 bdrm rambler type homes right next door. Then back on the road I was driving past Tupelo and decided to see E's birthplace and final resting place all in the same day. I went there, no one was there! I walked through the shotgun house, no one there, and just felt weird. E's birth house! Was quiet and peaceful. Like what augi said in these reviews...from humble beginnings to The King!
was great to visit where it all started.
I've been here twice, there's a backway to the statue and the place isn't patrolled. You can walk here from veterans in 5min. It's an interesting museum and free to walk around inside
Shows what effect small beginnings have.
Family member giving tour was personal!
