Very nice staff, clean restrooms and laundry room. Stayed in the deer run side, that has a small playground for ages 5 to 12. Laundry is in other camping section so we drove over, and our 50 amp power premium site didn't have the power working correctly, but all in all nice stay. We would come back here.
The Natchez Trace Parkway isn't your typical NPS unit, but it's beautiful nonetheless. Our little slice of National Park fame! Great scenic drive (motorcycle ride, anyone?) with lots of great historical and natural stops. Stop in at the Visitor Center to get all the info from friendly Park Service staff. You can also drive the Trace if you aren't in a hurry to get to Jackson or to Nashville. It's refreshing to drive without lots of traffic, pretty scenery, and NO BILLBOARDS!! :D
Awesome place. Ask to watch the video of Natchez Trace.
Under strick, Mississippi, Fundamentalist, Christian law, gays and lesbians can legally be denied services at restaurant, hotels and even hospitals in the name of Jesus. That's right, you can be refused services by any business in Mississippi. Even this little blink and you miss it stop along the Trace can refuse service based on their Christian beliefs. So, please be careful traveling through this area. You might not be able to buy gas, get a hotel room or get help from a doctor or hospital if you become sick or injured.
Visited with my four and six year old sons as part of the Junior Park Ranger program. They liked the exhibits, and greatly enjoyed hiking a section of the Old Trace.
